The Brainchild of Chen, the song was recorded as these three men made a promise to come together. LIVE It Up exhalts you to LIVE the way God planned for your life 'abundantly'. The lyrics instruct us how to LIVE wisely and assures us that 'goodness and mercy' is our portion all the days of our lives.
Club Kingdom believes Live It Up will become an anthem in 2015 that encourages all to live confident in God's Love whilst you dance to it's rousing bassline. It marks the beginning of an amazing journey and the birth of many projects in 2015, and beyond that Club Kingdom endeavours to host for God's people to enjoy.
Club Kingdom has been established for a number of years and is now an incorporated CIC (Community Interest Company). During 2014 CK organised and hosted a number of events that culminated in people hearing the message of Salvation, and receiving it personally.
BIO - SHADRACH
Born to Jamaican parents and raised with five other siblings in a tough part of London, like his namesake, Shadrach has "been through the fire."
He grew up on Kellett Road, in the heart of Brixton. In the midst of many near death experiences and countless encounters with the law, Shadrach always had a passion for music. At the age of 15, he started to MC on all the local sound systems and eventually became a member of Sir Coxone Sound. Shadrach quickly gained a good reputation among the ranks earning him on-stage appearances with various international recording artists. Reflecting upon his past life experiences, Shadrach always states “I'm here but by the Grace of God!"
Every time I left my house I came across someone telling me 'Jesus Loves You'. One day I was walking through my neighbourhood and heard some lively music and thought I'd have a closer look. It turned out to be a gospel outreach and before I left, a man named Alex prayed with me - this is where Shadrach's true story begins. Two months later on August 15th 1999, he visited Alex's church and truly gave his life to Jesus. He has never looked back since. The old man has been replaced by the new.
It was "ashes to ashes and dust to dust".
VISIONARY - CHEN ventolin inhaler
Chen was raised in a single parent home. He grew up in a community of Jamaicans, Irish and Nigerians in Brixton, South London. Due to his mixed heritage of Chinese, Black and White he never felt that he quite fit in with any crowd and subconsciously felt alieniated during his youth, with a deep yearning to be loved and accepted.
This yearning, at the tender age of 9 drove him to join his first of many street gangs and thus began his career in criminal activity. He was involved in armed robberies and worked his way up to the status of 'drug lord'. During this time he was also heavily involved in the secular music industry, behind the scenes as music was a passion from his youth. In the last of his prison sentences, he received a twelve year sentence, of which he served eight years and five days. It was during this last stint that he was introduced to and undertook the
It was here that God really revealed himself to Chen and let him know how much he was loved and what he was called to do and upon this revelation he became a Christian. Since that time he has dedicated his life to God and through the Club Kingdom events he organises and hosts, it's his testament of God's power in his life and his way of ministering to others that God can do the same, if not more in their lives too.
BIO - LYTIE
Lloyd (Lytie) was born in Birmingham, UK, and grew up in the inner city district of Aston and attended Sunday school at New Testament George Street.
A great friendship developed when Lloyd met drummer David "Skins" and from this meeting David lead him into the musical world. A band was formed with singers Zorro, Lytie and Jaco Melody and the trio travelled and sang together on the road.
Although Lytie converted to Rastafarianism; he felt the need to belong, and was still searching for something. Life was not holding together, directions were not clear. After several years traveling, the group finally disbanded and Lytie went solo, still searching, still trying to find his way.
Eventually Lytie became successful, launching a solo singing career. His dreams were becoming reality, traveling across Europe, singing with top reggae artists such as Frankie Paul, Yellow Man, Gregory Isaacs, Loose Ends and many more. Lloyd achieved acclaim in gaining a no.1 hit in the reggae charts for the track"I Want You". This led to Lytie receiving two Gold Discs. The world was his oyster.
Then, for no apparent reason, things began to go wrong; practice sessions didn't come together, singing live on stage problems developed with the PA system. One day while Lytie was driving, he crashed into a brand new BMW. No life was lost but the accident could not be explained. The fine gold was beginning to tarnish...! In desperation Lloyd went to the USA and spent a few months with his mother, trying to sort out his life, trying to find answers to so many questions.
Upon returning to the UK, Lytie started to read The Bible... something he had not done for a long time. A voice said “why have you stopped praying?”
Eventually he started praying again and also listening to the Handsworth radio station People's Community Radio Line (Known as PCRL) in the 80's when the word of God became clear, more real, and relevant. From that revelation he became a born again Christian.
